Can You Change Commitments

You may have lots of commitments in your life that no longer make sense or add quality to your life. Do you take on too many roles and responsibilities? These will likely drain your resources and take away from the most rewarding commitments. Change your commitments so that you get the most out of your life and time.

Jesus reminded people in Matthew 13 33 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.”

The little adjustments you make can make a huge difference over time.

Action list

  • List your commitments and roles- sort them from the most rewarding to least.
  • Think about the least rewarding roles and ask yourself: Can I eliminate this? If the answer is no, ask the second question: How can I give it away to someone else who can do it?
  • Now think about the rest, list your responsibilities, sort them from the most rewarding to the least.
  • For each responsibility, ask the two questions again: Can I eliminate this? If the answer is no, ask the second question: How can I give it away to someone else who can do it? Narrow your list to the most rewarding and important commitments. DO WHAT COUNTS – WHAT LASTS – WHAT GIVES MEANING.
