Spiritual Coaching Vol 1 #9 Change…

Can Changing Friends Change Your Life?

The idea of changing your friendships doesn’t mean getting rid of your current friends. What I want you to think about is that you should change the friends who influence you, in other words who are those close enough to you to make an impact. Seek out close friends who can encourage, equip, and enrich your life so that you move to the next level. If your current friendships do not help you to do this – don’t get rid of your old friends but add new friends who do. Be intentional – interact with them and you are more likely to find satisfaction and success. Remember, success encourages success. Proverbs 13:20 says, “those who walk with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.”

Action list

  • Become a part of a professional organization in your field.
  • Become more active or join a good social organization (for example, church, service organization, or charity) to meet positive people in your area.
  • Become a part of an online forum in an area in which you want to grow and learn.
  • Be intentional about seeking a support system of friendship that will encourage you in your work, family, and other friendships.
