Spiritual Coaching Vol 2 #14 Flight…

Yesterday I spoke to a man who served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He served in places like Tinian, Guam, Paulaus, and Japan during fierce combat – places nearly forgotten to most today. He is battling COPD now and feels life slipping away. It’s his fiercest battle. We spoke of life and faith and sacrifice. I admire and respect his courage. More than that I admire his faith. We so easily put our faith in the hands of a pilot, an airplane crew, and air traffic controllers. Yet, it seems people are less trusting of the One who inspired the words, but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…

To soar, to fly, to travel, to feel the freedom of flight are all encompassed when you have faith and trust. The Ancient stories even picture God in flight – floating above the waters of Genesis 1, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. We are invited to fly – to trust – to believe. More than the odds in flight are the odds of faith. In believing we are more at peace than any other time and with peace we are willing to explore where God wants us to soar. Safe flight – Be well.
