Full…
There was a full moon over the pond behind my house this morning. It was a beautiful sight before the morning dawn began to wash it away. It was as if I was watching night and day merge. Quietly the fullness of the moon was being filled, not with reflected light, but the light of its counterpart – the sun. I thought to myself. I want to reflect the light of the Son as well. I long to merge my reflected light into the brightness of the true Source. As long as I remain full it is possible. When there is an object that stands in the way we only see partially. When nothing blocks the view we see fully.
Full…
This is such a powerful word and fills me with joy. There people who make me feel full of joy and hope. There are poets that make my heart soar. I love the words of Maya Angelou, when she wrote, “Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at it destination full of hope.” Jesus spoke words that could fill people with hope too. Luke 4 talks about Jesus beginning his work “full of the Holy Spirit.” There is the promise to all of us in Luke 6, “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full–pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” When you give away what you get, it is returned to you in a fuller measure. Perhaps not by the one you gave it to but by the One who fills all things full.
Be Well.
