Spiritual Coaching Vol 2 #52 Birth…

http://www.dennymeyer.me Birth…

There was a man who asked the question of all questions uttered by humans, “Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” We have all been born once but to be born again is not some slogan of a southern evangelical group – it is the question everyone asks at one time or another, “What happens when I die?” If I could have all the hours that people have worried and fretted over this question I might live forever. Mark Twain, with his humorous twist on life, said, “Why is it that we rejoice at a birth and grieve at a funeral? It is because we are not the person involved.” We are all selfish by nature. We want the story to be about us. Our birth, our life, and even our death. What Jesus was talking about was a new kind of birth. Being born again was to be born to a life without worry of self. It was being born into a world that belonged to God and a life that was literally on “borrowed time.” It is not ours – it never was and never will be ours. When we realize we belong to the Creator and that the Creator loves us and wants the best for us (Jeremiah 29:11) we begin to live with less worry and new life – less focus on ourselves and more on others who are still all twisted up with worry. Give hope – give freedom.

When you stop worrying and start living there is new life in your step. When others become the focus of your attention instead of being worried if the story is about you, you can do things you never imagined possible. You are free (Galatians 5:1). Be Free – Be Well. Birth can take place at any age as Nicodemus got to learn first hand. Today can be a new day where you write the story about loving, serving, giving, and living in a new way. Your day and life is in the hands of a loving creator who brings all things together and gives meaning to the past, present, and eternity. If you must worry – pick one day this month and get it all out of your system on that day and let the rest be free to really live out loud.

Be Well.
