Spiritual Coaching Vol 2 #54 Idea…

http://www.dennymeyer.me   Idea…

An idea is a ephemeral thing. Sometimes it gestates for days or years and other times it springs to life in a moment. Steve Jobs once said, “…innovation comes from people meeting up in the hallways or calling each other at 10:30 at night with a new idea, or because they realized something that shoots holes in how we’ve been thinking about a problem.” Idea people can be curmudgeons for some and seem brilliant to others as we stand in awe of their innovation. Ideas can offer solutions to thorny issues or they can tumble out with no meaning, purpose, or thoughtfulness to their outcome. Sometimes people offer an idea to what they perceive as a “problem” but have no regard for the stewardship of their idea. They just trow it out and expect other people to implement this perceived brilliant gem. With any good idea comes responsibility.

Idea…

It is in the connections you make with others where the difference is made. Thomas Edison said, “The value of an idea lies in the using of it.” I think of thousands of words each day. Sometimes I wake up and think of an idea but fail to write it down or commit it to memory and it is gone. Sharing the idea or the word makes it real. Putting the word into action during my day gives it life. In the twenty-third chapter of Matthew Jesus said, “He that will be great among you let him serve.” An idea that serves others rather than serves self is an idea that will return to you in double measure. Someone who shares an idea and in the process offends and hurts others may never have their idea see the light of day. How many ideas have died before being born because the giver of the idea was mean spirited or rude. Discovering an idea may be easy – bringing it to life requires us to be persistent stewards and gentle servants of the idea.
