Spiritual Coaching Vol 2 #67 Ride…

Ride…

Yesterday was beautiful and sixteen miles on my bicycle felt good. It was freeing and the air was just cool enough not to get too hot. Dozens of people were out jogging, walking, roller blading, and taking their dogs with them. It was a time of prayer as well for me as the miles clicked away. The muscles told me it was the second ride of the season. A passage popped into my head this morning from 1 Timothy 4:8, “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” Life is a balance of body, mind, and spirit and we need to take care of all parts of our life to be whole. Each day needs some things for balance. Praying is like eating for the spirit. If we neglect to meditate and quiet the spirit to listen to the Spirit it atrophies like the muscles of our body. Dale Evans, (Roy Rogers wife) said, “It’s the way you ride the trail that counts.” So ride the trail today with spirit, mind, and body – be fully present and fully engaged.

Be Well
