Spiritual Coaching Vol 2 #136 Black…

ImageSpiritual Coaching Vol 2 #136 Black…

This morning I said that there would be an announcement connected with our efforts to deal with the drug and suicide problem in our area and this is it. Country Mega-Star, Clint Black, will perform at the LaPorte Civic Auditorium on December 1, 2012 in a benefit concert to raise awareness and money to deal with drug and suicide prevention. I am extremely excited that Bethany Church is the host for this event. Another local artist, Lexi Elisha, will be the opening act for this concert which will focus attention on these problems in a positive way with standards by Black, Christmas songs, and perhaps some music from his new album which comes out in November. James Bagley wrote this about Clint, “Clint Black arrived on the country charts in 1989, a great year for new talent in country music, with Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, and Travis Tritt also releasing debut albums. As hard as it may be to believe now, Black’s debut Killin’ Time established him initially as the biggest of the new stars with hits like “A Better Man,” “Nobody’s Home,” and the title track.” I talked with musicians yesterday at our Country Gospel service who have met Clint Black and both said he is a genuinely nice guy – very real and approachable. It’s good to know that nice guys can make a difference even in small town America. These are economic hard times for lots of people. They say that unemployment is over 8% but that doesn’t even count those who have stopped looking and given up. Giving up in life leads to all kinds of problems and I want us to spread some good news and “cheer” to our community. Tickets will go on sale September 1, 2012 and are expected to go fast. Visit us at www.blc24seven.com and look for the connection to tix.com so you can be among the first to get your tickets to this inspiring, fun, and hope filled benefit concert. If you want to donate to the cause you can also do so on-line at that same web site and just mark it “Benefit Concert Donation” and it will go toward our efforts. So even if you can’t make it to the concert you can still be a part of addressing a big problem. Spread the word – make a difference
