Spiritual Coaching Vol 2 #203 Trail… http://www.dennymeyer.me
November 26, 2011 I began this writing journey. I thought I would reprint that first entry and reflect back.
[Spiritual Coaching Insight Vol 1 #1 Don Miller said something that rings true as we think about all the people we will encounter during the holiday season. Patience and understanding will go a long ways. Treating people with dignity and respect does not mean you are weak. “When you stop expecting people to be perfect, you can like them for who they are.” ― Donald Miller, A Million Miles In A Thousand Years: Why Some Live Make Sense And Others Don’t Good thoughts for our families and friendships too.]
I was shocked at how short it was. I wanted to be pithy and not verbose but that is ridiculous. Why would anyone come back to read that non-insight. (Even though the book is a great read.) I don’t want to suggest that I have become significantly wiser or a better writer but it has been a great outlet for me and kept me searching for truth in daily life. It has made me realize how far I have to go.
This week I need your prayers. On Saturday we are hosting a benefit concert. Clint Black, country superstar, will be performing in LaPorte. Our church is sponsoring this. Why? It is an out there kind of thing to hopefully raise money and awareness of the problem of drug abuse and prevent the growing number of suicides in our area. People who have never darkened the door of a church may at least come and see a church that really cares about our community and wants to make it better. Will you pray for the success of this event. I believe that prayer is a powerful force. Help us to reach folks with a positive message and help them to realize that together we can change our communities for the better. Thanks for your thoughts, prayers, and support. If you would like to make a donation toward this cause visit the website
Again, thanks for reading, reflecting, and responding to some of the ideas you have read.
