There is something soothing about a gentle rain. Like the song “A Little Fall of Rain” from les Miserable there is a gentleness to this time of year. I don’t mind the clouds as much as the clouds of winter. Last night as I drove home I could see lightening in the south. Just from the cloud tops. It was too far away to hear any thunder but the thought of rain on the roof was comforting. Maybe it the womb effect. We long to be enclosed and hear the sound of water around us – that may be stretching it. It is amazing to find so many references on search engines but none seem to satisfy.
Jesus once said that God sends the rain on the good and evil alike – that is grace. A gift of grace is not determined by the recipients behavior – it is up to the giver. God is good. Remember that grace whether you walk under sunny skies, or some clouds are hanging around or even if you’re having an early spring snow storm. To appreciate the variety of grace is enough.
