My computer desktop is a mess. There are weeks that go by when I am busy working and things just collect on the desktop I need to file them or delete them. It reflects my life the last few months – cluttered. I consider myself an organized person, for the most part, but as the ESSENTIALS and CRITICALS of life accumulate filing falls by the wayside. Today I am going to clean it up. Not because I have the time but I’m sick of looking at it. Yet, it intimidates me to look at it right now.
I’ve heard two theories on desk clutter. “A cluttered desk is a sign of a creative mind,” and, “A cluttered desk is a sign of a disorganized person.” I’m opting for the first one. There is another way that I have always looked at life and it shapes the kind of clutter that exists on the desktop – People matter and Intimacy with God is the most important thing. These are the two choices that matter most to me.
I’ve been leading a study called the “Leadership Lessons of King David.” He was a flawed individual but he had the leadership tools that mattered. The Bible says that he was, “a man after God’s own heart.” What a thing to be said about you. So that is the question that I will ask you today – Are you a woman or a man or a young adult who could be described as a “person after God’s own heart?” It is about desire and capitalizing on the gifts, talents, and abilities that you have uniquely been given. More on this in my next post.
