The two stress-buster ideas for today are:
1. Identify and Know Your Limits: We all have physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual limits – a point of no return that requires us to stop, evaluate, rest, recover, and resolve to take a break. Today is that kind of day for me. Life has been very stressful and I have felt very unappreciated lately. It’s probably a false notion on my part but when stress builds up we tend to feel isolated. So today is a day to break from the norm. A mental health day where I tend to the spiritual side of my personal life and not the lives of other people. We all need to be aware of our limits and when we are nearing them. What triggers do you have to help you regulate your personal limits?
2. Have a technology free evening: Turn off the TV, put the cell phone on airplane mode, unplug the land line, shut down the computer, hide the iPad, iTouch, and iDevice and focus on you. Read a book, light some candles, take a walk after dark, and other simple technology free things that can de-stress your life just a little.
I heard a story on BBC radio yesterday about a nomad in America. He has a web site – 3mules.com and a Facebook page which were set up for him by others but allowed by him. He is trying to make a point about a simpler life. He may have a point.
