A New Story (4/3)

tell them your storyA New Story (4/3)

In the whirlwind winter and the new year I’ve had some time to think and pray and wonder about the passion and drive for writing, coaching, and serving. It is easy to become a Christian Poser when you want to make people happy, and pastors can be real people pleasers. What if God forgave us to free us from being overly worried about success or failure? What if God has, in Jesus, forgiven us ahead of time to live with more abandon to see what we can do with our life knowing that the beginning and ending is secure in Christ? I’ve been reading Don Miller’s “Storyline” recently and have found it to be fascinating. Check it out if you get a chance. From a spiritual perspective, I’ve been able to live with paradox for a long time (the virtue of Lutheran theology). I also believe that God is active and moving in the mix of the universe and we are able to watch for and join in doing what God loves to do. We are “invited” to do something we are profoundly passionate about for the good of ourselves and others. The idea that we could write a really good story with our life is truly energizing. Over the next few days and weeks I’ll share my take on the book and the ideas Don has. It has freed me up to work on my own personal story in a new way so check it out at

Be Well…
