Choosing healthy habits are hard to tackle when you develop so many unhelpful habits over time. I know that this Lent will not be easy. Just from a weather standpoint it is difficult for me. I want to exercise in the early mooring but when it is so frigid cold I am unmotivated. So I have a rule now: If I don’t feel like doing it – it probably means I should do it. How do you like it?
I’m tackling three habits for Lent on this healthy habit journey: 1) Contemplative prayer before each meal, which includes slowing down and enjoying the meal – not rushing through it. 2) Ditching unhealthy snacks and soda. This seems obvious. 3) Track what I eat with the “Lose It” app. It’s the third one that I’m most unsure of keeping up with. I’ve failed before.
I’m going to toss one other on for good measure – eat a healthy breakfast. I’m quite sure I will not be able to do these seven days a week but I am going to try for five at least. As the weather breaks I will walk more and begin to ride my bike every dry day. So here we go. Ash Wednesday is past and Lent has just begun. Are you joining me on this healthy habit journey?
