You’ve made it two weeks! Once you begin the journey of spiritual growth the ability to listen and experience energy and vitality expands. It’s not just about doing a program or following rules – it is about an ability to listen to the guidance of the Spirit. We’ve talked about doing your best to love and accept yourself and to affirm your commitment to a more vitalized spiritual life. Today use this affirmation:
“I am in an emotionally more harmonious place with everything and everyone.”
Notice the relationships of your life – you don’t need to change everything but become aware of your emotional energy. Does it go up or down as you relate to the people in your life. Try to identify the energy drainers and the more toxic relationships. Do you feel energized and affirmed or do you feel drained and exhausted? Do you feel loved and accepted or do you feel like you have to continually try to please and placate others? Read this Scripture out loud:
“Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.” Galatians 1:10 (NLT)
You need to be you – to love and accept what God has made you to be – to understand your emotional life and how it impacts your relationships. Over the weekend I’d like you to reflect and journal about the commitment you have made, the experience you have had, and the sense of direction you are following. Listen to the Spirit in the quiet times and in the space you have created for listening and reflecting. Do’t fill the weekend with too much busyness. There needs to be times where you connect with nature and the creation around you. Be sure to take time to worship and praise your creator and live as a forgiven blessed being.
Join me again next week for another week of our journey towards a more vital spiritual life.
