Today I want you to consider the things that are energy draining for you. What are these energy drainers? They make you feel empty – they drain your energy, enthusiasm, and joy. At times you get so accustomed to some of these that you don’t even know it is happening to you. You are only aware that you feel diminished and down. Some of these drainers could be:
+ Feeling exhausted after being with a certain person.
+ Saying yes when you mean no
+ Suppressing your true feelings when you are around a certain person.
+ Working without being rejuvenated by adequate time off.
+ Media overload
+ Over drinking or eating
+ No exercise
These are just examples – I think you get the idea. Write down a list of the things that drain you in your journal and work this week at getting rid of one of them or finding a new way of managing one of them so they have less control over you. You control you. If you find yourself becoming really negative take a drive, a ride, or a walk. Take a time out from the drainer.
Tomorrow we will consider those things that give you energy and how you find more time for them in your day.
Repeat this scripture several times today if you can:
“And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness can not comprehended it.” John 1:5
Don’t let darkness overcome you – overcome darkness with light.
