There is an old history saying that goes, “Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.” That’s different than living in the past or dwelling on the “good ol’ days.” As you move from one year to the next remember don’t spend a lot of time looking back except to learn the lessons and grow from them. Keep your eyes fixed on today and the mission that is ahead of you.
Consider this: What gifts will you bring to 2015? How will you use your gifts and talents? Will they be for you or for the good of others. It really is boring to live just for yourself. Live for something that is meaningful and purposeful. Ring in the new with a new commitment to looking forward and building on the future one day at a time.
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead…” Philippians 3:13
Happy New Year and Be Well…
