Spiritual Life Coaching – Church

Spiritual Life Coaching – Church

There are lots of reasons people have for not attending a church. Most of those reasons have to do with a bad experience; there are plenty of bad congregations around and plenty of cultural Christians. Yet, one bad experience is no reason to give up and quit. Church is not really in one location or one building. Church is community – it is people who love God and love others. Don’t look for a church in the traditional sense, look for a community of faith that lives out their faith in service to one another and the world around them. Are they grounded in the Word? Do they try to make their community better? Do a little detective work.

Don’t give up – search for that place where your spirit is nurtured, not just where you are comfortable. Comfort is not the distinguishing mark of the Church. When you serve you light the path for others and live a more interesting life. I like what Ephesians 2:20-22 says about Church: “Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”

Be Well…
