Spiritual Life Coaching – Watch

Spiritual Life Coaching – Watch

With the arrival of the smart phones I had almost broken myself of the watch habit. It was sort of freeing to not have that thing on my wrist always checking the time. I had to be more intentional to take the phone out of my pocket. Then along comes the Fitbit and it tells me my steps, time, caller ID, and other helpful healthy things but I find myself looking at my wrist again. Now the Apple Watch lures me. I want it. It will reveal texts, calls, maps, and endless apps, all with a lifting of my wrist to eye level – but is this what I want to do? Time is a precious thing but I sometimes think that it is more precious the less we pay attention to it. Maybe if we make sure we have a technology free zone for at least a couple of hours a day we would feel less frantic. The world is moving fast enough – disconnect so you can reconnect.

I like this line from Psalm 90:12, “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” That doesn’t seem like a frantic thing – just wise and timely.

Be Well…
