Spiritual Life Coaching – All Star

Spiritual Life Coaching – All Star

It’s always interesting to see who gets chosen for the All Star Game in the summer, who leads in fan voting, what sort of politics goes on in baseball like other parts of life. The American game is not immune from the way life is for others. I read an article about a young man who is doing some good things in our community. I admire him and am pleased with how he is contributing to our community. For a moment I sat back and said to myself, “Yeah, but I’ve been doing this kind of stuff for decades and people haven’t given me any accolades and my bosses in Church headquarters haven’t really said much over the years.” I was obviously thumb-sucking and whining. We want to be noticed and recognized when we have consistently produced good results. Someone stopped by my office today and told me that every month her boss gives out a little award for the best producer in the office. This month she was but he didn’t do anything. That kind of thing can hurt.

There is a passage in Matthew 6 that goes like this, “Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.” Jesus knew that the world operates on the principal of “NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED.” Keep living and loving – reward yourself when you need to and know that God always recognizes the good you do. So keep doing it.

Be Well…

Hey there outstanding website! Does running a blog similar to this take a great
deal of work? I’ve absolutely no knowledge of computer programming but I had been hoping
to start my own blog soon. Anyhow, should you have any
recommendations or tips for new blog owners please share.
I know this is off subject nevertheless I simply needed to ask.
