Spiritual Life Coaching – Middle

Spiritual Life Coaching – Middle

This morning I went to get my haircut, which is also a philosophical or sociological discussion. Today we decided that it was late early summer or perhaps the middle of summer. June really begins summer around here and although many people count the 4th of July as the middle we preferred to think that the 31st of July is more like the middle and oh how good the heat and humidity feels right now after the winter we had. I know that students and teachers are beginning to whine and prepare for the inevitable start of school but I savor these days. In my youth I hung around an ottoman-like fan and turned off lights closed drapes except for those which permitted airflow. Now we enjoy the luxurious air conditioned environs and seek the heat only when we have to go on an errand or our work requires tasks outside. It’s nice at times to philosophize and just enjoy these hot humid days and then scoff at the blustery winds of November. Then, just as I was writing, I heard the Byrds singing on my playlist, “Turn, Turn, Turn.” The song became an international hit in late 1965 when it was covered by The Byrds, reaching #1 on the Hot 100 chart on December 4, 1965, #3 in Canada on Nov. 29, 1965, in the U.S., the song holds distinction as the #1 hit with the oldest lyrics (Book of Ecclesiastes). So to every season there is a time for everything under heaven and enjoy each day.

Be Well…
