Many people measure themselves on a success scale. They think of themselves as successful or unsuccessful. I think that to measure ourselves we might better consider the kind of “impact” we make. How do we impact the world and those around us? There are several things that we tend to see in those who do not have much impact. One of those qualities is a sense of entitlement. The feeling that they deserve something that others have. There are a few other things you tend to see: criticism of others, taking the credit for what others do, fear of change, talking negatively about others, angry about many things (especially their circumstances), never setting goals, thinking they know it all, seldom self reflective, and holding a grudge. These things can hold you back from making a true impact. Tomorrow let’s look at what can make a good impact. Until then take a little personal inventory. Are you focused on a low impact life or do you want to make a more positive impact?
