In the words of the amazing Dr. Seuss,, “Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!” Imagination shapes your life and as we dare to dream we begin to realize that when we are conforming to the God sized dreams our imagination expands. Scripture reminds us, “Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.” Proverbs 4:23 (TEV)
One of the ways that I often begin to prepare for teaching is to just start talking out loud. Not out in public but in some quiet spot or while taking a walk. Prayer is at its very elemental level a conversation with God. So speech is both listening and speaking in a conversational style which often begins to release the imagination.
Time in the Word is another way to connect with your imagination. God wants to inspire you to imagine things that never have been or never would be if it were not for you. Whether it is a great invention or a better way to serve people it takes God inspired imagination. This week I’ll be exploring that topic in my blog and in the mid-week podcast. Keep following and daring to dream God sized dreams.
