Spiritual Life Coaching – Give Your Best

Spiritual Life Coaching – Give Your Best

You’ve heard it before, someone says to you to give your all, do your best, give it your all, and other variations of this advice. I loved a quote from Mahatma Gandhi, who said, “The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems.” This week my focus will be on what it means to do your best or give your best and it all starts by THINKING that you have a best. People lower the standards for themselves so much at times that they don’t even know there is a best in them. There was a time when Jesus was in a synagog with his brothers and saw people filing past the offering box – “Just then (Jesus) looked up and saw the rich people dropping offerings in the collection plate. Then he saw a poor widow put in two pennies. He said, ‘The plain truth is that this widow has given by far the largest offering today. All these others made offerings that they’ll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn’t afford—she gave her (best) her all!'”

Giving your best will cost you something. It will make you stretch yourself past the easy to the more difficult. If you believe in something give it your best – your all. It’s good to consider on a Monday when many of you are going back to work or have plans for the week.

Be Well…
